George D Schultz

George Schultz is my father. He was born in Detroit during the early-thirties to Bernard Carl Schultz and Katherine Dolores VilleMonte. His only sibling is a younger sister, Diane Schultz - later Diane DuJardin. As what appears to be the custom on that side of the family -- most go by their middle name. His mother went by Dolores or Dolly to close family. I was 46 years old (putting together the previous version of this site) before I even knew her name was Katherine. My father (less often these days) goes by the name Duane to family, and his sister goes by the name Dee. This even bleeds over to my father's cousins. Paul Gerald VilleMonte went by Jerry (Uncle Jerry to me) to family and his brother Uncle Dale -- has the real name of Robert.

My father's parents divorced when they were very young and their mother raised him and his sister. I know far less about this side of my family, but I do know that my father would often stay with his VilleMonte Grandparents. I know his Grandfather Schultz died as a young man, long before my father was born, and he did not spend as near as much time with the Schultz side of the family. I know very little about them. His Grandfather VilleMonte, and after he had died, his Uncle Paul (the previously mentioned cousins Jerry and Dale's father) and Aunt Gen (VilleMonte) would take him to their cabin on the lake during the summers -- and this is how he met my mother. They married when she finished high school and he completed his contract with the Navy. They separated in 1972, while I was in the Air Force, and divorced.

The Below links will take you to memories my father has of some of my ancestors. Maybe I can talk him into also putting together his memories of his aunts and uncles -- as it is harder for me to get ancestor information from relatives on that side of my family.
