Howard Lyon is my
second cousin, and has the honor of being the eldest of my
living ancestors - as he beats out Uncle Noel by just a
hair.
Howard's father was
my Gram Castillo's brother Frank. Frank was married quite a
few times and ultimately had three sets of children. Howard
was his first. My Great-grandmother and Great-Grandfather
Lyon raised Howard with Gram’s eldest, Noel. Howard and Noel
have always been close. They lived and went to school
together; both were in the military during WWII, although
Noel was in the Navy and Howard was Army Air Corps; both
were in the auto industry together, again same but different
as Howard was at Chrysler and Noel was at GM; and both moved
to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas after their retirement --
but lived on different lakes.
I think very highly
of both Uncle Noel and Howard. They are both very
interesting people -- and both look, act, and feel much
younger than most people their age. The same can be said
about their wives Aunt Wilma (Noel's) and Joann (Howard's).
The Below links will take you to memories Howard has of some
of my ancestors. I invite him to submit his memories of our
other relatives - even if someone else has already written
of them. Different people can see the same people
differently -- and it would be nice to have as many of the
different perspectives as possible, for a historical record.
