I won't be able to take many photos

Update:

Cold -- occasional sprinkles

They're just finishing up Time Trials. Everyone got two -- Dallas and I only took one. Most everyone is fast in the first one. Dallas did a 10.7 and will need to shave .3

I was about to take mine when Jake asked my to come to the end of the track for a photo shoot. That took and hour and my car barely started to get back. I went back to charge it and found that the switch had moved from Gel to Deep -- so I changed it. An hour later it was still charging at 10 AMPS -- but I had to make my TT Pass.

I was lined up next to Albert Lee. I did a 1.360 60', 3.933 330', 6.062 @ 115 mph (a little off), a 7.909 1000' and a 9.458 @145MPH on my 9.50 index. At the end of the track the motor didn't sound good at all but I had oil pressure. I saw the fuel pressure drop to 0 then 3, then back up to 8. It stayed there back to the pits.

In the pits I threw open the hood and couldn't tell if I had a header leak or the rockers. Took the valve covers off and all was well. Checked the header bolts (just put new gaskets in Tuesday) and the bolts were all a little loose. Tighten them tried to fire the car up -- and it was dead. Found the negative terminal just a little loose and tightened it. Fired the car up and hour later and it sounds good. I'm hoping the fuel pressure was battery related. I've had the battery charging at 15 amps for the last two hours.

First Round of Qualifying is it at 3 PM (15 minutes late as I type this) and the seconds at 7PM -- but they still need to clear the staging lanes from TT. The track is cold so there have been a few wrecks. I'm sure I'll have problems hooking -- so I might drop my launch to 5200 from 5600. They're running the Mustangs with us -- and they're breaking down everywhere.

Rosie is out -- no oil pressure.

The 59 Pontiac is out. He lost his rear main seal and oiled the track down some.

I need to remember to tell y'all about Jake Jr. when I fill you in later tonight.
