I am not taking is as bitchin at all....... Just valid questions needing answers.
I couldn't tell you anything about the choices you have with Rat engines. I just don't know much about them. When I was a line tech at a Chevy dealer in Baton Rouge, I had a chance to see one Rat up close. It came out of a bus and was a swap out under warranty. Every thing else I worked on was either a small block, or a V6, and I worked on enough of them to lock my tool boxes and swear I would never work at a dealer for a living again. Now I just do it for fun and friends hehehehe.
When I have BB Chevy questions I have a few friends that really know their way around them, I just talk to those guys.
For Mopar, we do have lots of engine choices, but remember, we could order almost any engine in our cars. For my 68 Barracuda I could get a /6, 273, 318, 340, 383 (B), and the HEMI. The 440 Mr. Norms cars I dont count hehehe. Now in 1969, it was /6, 318, 340, 383 (B), and 440 (RB) Same for the 68 and 69 Darts.
Not too bad eh?
On another note, I love the W engines in the Chevy lineup. Just a cool engine all they way around. It seems to me I saw an article a while back in I think, popular hot rodding where they talked about aluminum W engine heads hitting the market. I would love to see some of the old Chevy iron runnin in FX.
I am a Mopar guy that also loves the early FE powered Fords. But I know we need lots of cars to make this thing work. Adding a good alloy block for the W engine guys is sure to increase the car count, and I would really love to have a chance at runnin against some of those machines.
