When you do a speech or write a report for the general public (IE:not lawyers or Engineers) -- you are suppose to shoot for the 10th-11th grade on Fleischer-Kincaid scale, as that's the level the average American reads at. I use to have to write presentations, and was often modifying, to stay at the 10th-11th grade.
You have to look at who it was that voted for Obama, as that's who he's targeting. Most are pretty much uneducated, and even the 8th grade might be two or three grades over their head.
But this thread was a report on the Book about Bobby and Jackie, and strayed pretty far afield from it with Bush and Obama.
