Dave, I'll only make the Bowling Green NMCA race next year, due to distance (if they have a race there).
I'm not competeing for a ring, just don't have the time and bux!
If you make any NSS races at Montgomery or No Problem, we'll put it on our schedule. I may even stretch it out to 400 miles, but that's a big maybe.
As for NMCA, I got treated really bad in the early years, but have had a mostly positive experience in the past 3 years, since we've been running NMC and NSS.
As for the Memphis Race this year, and all the whining that's gone on about bracket racers....... I place he blame squarely on the NMCA classes (especially the LS cars, and their seemingly unlimited time trials) on the whole dobocle. The bracket racers were the ones who took all the blame, as they were running when the bottom finally fell out, late Sunday PM. Let's all remember all the wrecks, scrapes, n2o backfires, oil downs and junk that went on three full days, that caused cars to be going down the track, in VERY UNSAFE CONDITIONS Sunday PM. In retrospect, I'm not sorry I turned the red bulb on R1. I would not have took the Malibu down the track R2. My life and my car are more important than a round win (or for that matter, a race win).
The bracket racer (Nacole) in the Vega, just did what many other drivers did during the weekend, she got out of the groove. It probabaly wouldn't have been an issue if she wasn't racing on a 52 degree, slick , dangerous track. The good news is, both drivers are gong to be OK.
Between the weather and the ammount of cars NMCA was trying to run that weekend, there was no margin for anything to go wrong....and boy did things go wrong.
No one is more unhappy than me, about Memphis closing, but it's just the way our economy is going.....and I'm concerned it's not over yet.
I'll support any NSS series that runs in my 'racing area', that doesn't have STUPID RULES (like a couple of groups have now).
See you guys in 10. Right now it looks like Bowling Green NMCA (?), Hot Rod Reunion, and Dave Duel Classic. Keep us posted on what's happening! |
