DUMPSTER This is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.

Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.

Default History of Dodge Trucks

Most of you know that before Dodge was a Chrysler division, it was owned by the Dodge Brothers -- who originally made parts for Henry Ford before striking it out on their own to build cars.

Both brothers died of the flu within a year of each other -- and ultimately Walter P. Chrysler bought the Dodge Brothers Company and made it a Chrysler division. The story of how he did that is a funny one -- but for another time and post.

The fact is that Dodge Brothers didn't start making trucks (they did a couple of small car modifications into trucks) but originally (and ultimately exclusively) sold the Graham Brothers trucks through its dealership. The Dodge Brothers later bought the Graham Brothers out and it became a Dodge division still using the name Graham Brothers -- before merging the two divisions and renaming the trucks Dodge Brothers.

So that Ram 3500 pickup really has its roots going back to the Graham Brothers trucks.
