DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
Mark, it's a shame you and Dave are all the way out there in Texas and nothing is close in Texas. How do I know, I have 2 children and two grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter living in Texas and it takes a day and 1/2 to get from one bunch to the other. Anyway, I would like to see some races like you said, that more or less featured NSS cars and paid us some money to be there or a purse or point fund or something. We will never be too much attached to these "Street Car" guys. The Good Guys race in Bowling Green in Oct this year was great. We were invited to race and still paid money. Lots of pople coming by to look the cars over and we were parked right at the end of the bleachers next to the fence on the pavement. MY best race of the year.

I'll tell you what else -- we need to get some young blood to get into this quick -- or NSS will die in 10 years or so. I'll be 54 and I'm in the youngest 10%. I'd guess the average age to be 62-65 (with Damon, Merrick, and TD watering it down to that young) and half of the current NSS racers realistically won't be racing 10 years from now. All of the stars would have to line up for me to still be alive in 20 years -- yet still racing.
Dave you are correct about that. I been worrying about that too. But you know what, a few years ago when I raced with the NSCA there were several young racer. There were at least a half dozen that would be at any given race. Several of these were up north and most drove Chryslers and I guess now just run the Chrysler only stuff or moved on to something else. I know a couple that have dabbled in NHRA too. Mark will tell you, we had some young blood 10 years ago, gee I was young then too....LOL. I love this stuff, but I told Cindy the other day, I wish I had sold out at the end of 2007 when I was on top. With the gas prices and every thing, it just looks down hill from here, but I will keep trying. I have about decided to not go to Florida. They usually have the race in the middle of our 2 week break, this year it is at the begining and we would have to miss 2 days we don't really have to get there, so we are going to Florida to visit family but not race.
