For the meager amount of purse they are paying, it will cost most of us nearly 3 times the amount for winning the event to just get there and get back. I have been telling ALL promoters that if they pay a good purse, the cars will come...if not........nada. I for one am tired of running our cars to hell and back for peanuts.........Will run a few NMCA events this season and make as many of the better payout races...who knows....someone will win.
Hope ya have a good turnout in Vegas....a few more NSS cars out there now...but from what I have seen and heard from many of them, they are bringing that show EAST this summer to play with us.
Right now I have to buy a new Jerico.......the one in the car "expired" yesterday.........lol
It costs a lot to build a quality NSS car that runs as fast as I like to go -- which puts the car on the ragged edge. I'll run it at all of the NMCA events this year because I committed to it, the higher paying events, and a couple in state events. To run in Vegas would be 6 total travel days and $2500 in diesel for the rig. Maybe next year I'll hit it with a NMC car in a pickup and enclosed trailer where it would cost me half as much.
I'm leaning more towards what the guys up north do, where a track pays for a half dozen of the faster NSS car to come match race.
Not looking to good, was hoping 5 or 6 cars from back east would be coming, even more would be nice. Had 15 cars last year, so in all reality the payout is pretty darn good, the race paid out 130% of entry fees, not many races that will do that.
I'd like to go someday -- but it is so hard to justify the number of travel days and expense. All of the NMCA races this year will break me because of the travel from SE Texas. MI, PA, IL, NC, FL, TN, KY and then there's either St. Louis or Alabama for a Nostalgia race.
Mopars at the Strip? NSS? Who's going?
