DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
Doesn't look a true NSS race (size of slicks for one) -- but a bracket race for old foot-brake cars. It does have a nice purse. Mark has something to do with this so I'll sure he'll explain. My only hesitation is that it is the same week of the Monster -- which is my favorite race. However -- I'll do what the majority of the Texas Outsiders do.
I'm thinking that I might throw the 14s on the black car for this race.
My understanding,NSS is same as we've run, think the other rules apply to the other nostalgia classes, gassers, and such. Could be wrong, but was my understanding
Nope............tire size in "NSS" will be varied...This race will NOT be run on any NSS rules that we know.......John Richmond will be running his small block, alky, injected Comet also.........I am sure that Sol made plenty of provisions to allow any of his "friends" to race. We are going for two reasons......One, the Old Drag Racers Reunion will finally install Jon Thorne into the Hall of Fame...and although I told Sol that he DID NOT WANT ME TO SPEAK, I most likely will say a few words about an old friend and employer. Jon was quite a colorful character........Inherited mucho money on his 21st birthday and we all did our best to spend it ..........from Drag cars to NASCAR and even road racing.......and our Second reason is to see friends from California that are making the long trek.........Yes, it is the same weekend as the Monster and we would like to be at both places.......I am in NO way saying that the Texas Outsiders will be at either venue.......Race where you want and have a blast.........we will be in Hellabama for this one.
Doug, I thought that I answered what questions that I could...this is NOT my party...if you need something answered, I suppose that YOU could call or email the address or phone number that is on the flyer. As for our Ford on the flyer, we only said "yes, you can use a photo"..........that is the total of my association with this event.
for a detailed answer to WHY we will be there...read the above post.
My bad -- I had thought this was going to be some kind of a Texas Outsider's event. I guess I have quite a few months to see which ways the tide flows on this or the Monster.
I know of Jon Thorne's Jayhawker and his ownership of the Charger driven by Leroy Yarobough -- but I don't know him.
