DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
I got 7 Play Cars:
1966 Chevelle, 1970 Dart,1969 Camaro, 1955 Chevy, 1955 Belvedere, 1966 Corvette and a 2002 Viper.
None of them Run. WTH? All of them are in a constant state of needing something. The Chevelle I Race, but it has got motor problems. The Dart has motor problems, but i finally got the front suspension half way fixed, the Camaro is still dissembled and trying to get itself put back to together, the 55 Chevy the air has gone out and needs to be tuned from sitting up, the belvedere has got a bad battery and a leaky oil pan, (which I also have a 500inch motor for that needs a roller cam installed) the Vette the battery is fried and I need to get a rear wheel bearing fixed and last but not least the Viper shred a serpentine belt Friday night. (not one in Houston)
So I am sitting there today wondering what to do with all the motorized vehicles I own..I only have a two car garage so I have them scattered around at shops and storage buildings. I need to sell some so I have time to enjoy what I have left. The Vette I can never get rid of. I bought it almost twenty years ago, in a box and have painstakingly put it back together. I really love 55's so I hate to part with them, The Camaro if I ever get it finished...gone, the Dart? been trying to sell it for months, but now it started smoking. That leaves the Chevelle..... and The viper which the wife really likes.
So I am thinking of Selling the Chevelle, the Camaro, and the Dart. Taking the 500inch Mopar Motor that Damon built me and sticking it in the Belvedere and racing it. If I do that then I can never run NMC or Nss races because it's illegal for both. I could sell one of the 55's and get a 55 Chevy, build it with a small block and race NMC. I would probably have to give up the Belvedere for that....but then there goes Pugly....I really don't want to ditch the Belve...
Man I am lost....... to top it off I got three 4 wheelers that haven't been ridden in months and a Harley that probably hasn't been ridden in over a year.
Anybody got my problems? What do you do with all your crap? What should I do with all of mine? I'll listen to any suggestions of how to keep them all going or what to do with them. Other than giving them away.

Motors for a Chevy are a dime a dozen -- the Chevelle is a pretty car; can run NSS, NMC, or brackets at the drop of a dime -- I'd keep that if I were you.
The Viper is a pretty car -- and if you like it and can afford it -- keep it.
Vettes do nothing for me -- and I don't miss mine. However I understand sentimental value.
I love the 55 Plymouth -- and almost bought that very car. However if you think you have problems now -- you ain't seen nothing when you start to really drive that car with a motor show-horned in it. I might consider cutting my losses on that one.
Most likely also with the 55 Chevy. You don't get the use out of it like you do the Chevelle.
Dart -- I know you could care less about that car -- gone. You might have to cut your losses a little to move it.
My brother rents a office park warehouse with a small office in front to hang in, and small bath room, and a warehouse that has a lift and can tightly park about 25 cars.
However, a rule of life is no matter what you have -- you'll ultimately need more. He needs to store three cars at my shop.
I'm planning to get 6 parking lifts to add another six cars. The reason is that I have no income right now, and investments all suck. Time to wheel and deal with what I know the most about -- cars.
Just a few years back I had 12 cars. My garage/shop, right after I built it, would hold 9 cars but after building a 'clean room', adding an engine lathe, mill, welding machines and on and on, only 3 cars will fit now. I sold everything that didn't run and a couple that did mainly to have the room, time and money to go drag racing and a couple of cars I sold were damn nice. I was actually down to just 4 vehicles. My wifes Durango, my work/yard cart Dakota, the diesel Ram and the Belvedere. Well, I now have 2 more Belvederes and all 3 do not run. Anyways, some of the money went to buy some new furniture and pay some bills off but a big chunk went to help out the oldest. You already know about her. I did get a race car but the time to mess with it just wasn't there so I sold it plus the majority of the money from the sale of the cars was pretty much gone. You are really busy too with your houses etc and if you can afford it, get someone to help out. If that's not an option, start cutting back. When I was working, there was almost no time to do anything on the cars like I wanted. Hell, just doing the yard work took one whole day before I sold off the extra half acre. Add in family and kids (that didn't help out with much) and doing everything by yourself, it's hard to spread yourself out over it all. Now that I have the time, the economy has handcuffed me and I'm still paying for the last one's college. I've actually thought about selling everything and just buying a nice travel trailer and living on the road. You got a place I can park when I'm in town!?

I need a smaller house, more land and a bigger garage that is for sure. My problem is that the housing market has crashed and there is not many poeple shopping fo a house my size right now. I do have my place up for sale and would like to buy (or finally build on what I already have) a house out in Grand River. Just need some cash....
