DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
Halve the year is gone and I have made a whooping three races so far, all pretty much local, only one had a NSS Class. I want to try to make at least one (truthfully, I'll be lucky to make one) "big" Race this year. It's got to be close enough for a day-day and a half drive.
I was thinking either Monster Mopar or one of the Saint Louis races (if they still have one later this year) I also heard there was a Nationals in Memphis....
Which one would Y'all suggest for a "rookie" driver? I don't mind running either an Index or a post your own number race, just can't handle the .400 Pro tree in my old foot brake heap.
Would be nice if it was something Mark and Dave would both be attending and maybe Damon if Ronn lets him out of work.

Planning on running NMCA Charlotte in August, Old Dragracers Reunion in Montgomery the same weekend as Monster in Sept and the Finals for NMCA in Memphis in Oct.........if we get our engine back together.
If I were in your shoes, I would go to St. Louis and run the Monster........
The monster is sort of like the Superbowl of NSS racing. You will find 70-80 cars there. There more than anywhere -- NSS cars get a little bit of the red carpet rolled out. Special pitting area right up against the staging lanes, a nice driver's dinner, the track photographer takes plenty of photos, and there is no where else where you'll see so many NSS cars.
If there is a schedule conflict -- then Memphis would be my second choice. But it is very crowded and if you want to park with the NSS guys -- you have to be at the head of the line on Friday morning at 9AM. The will be about 30 NSS cars there -- but we're kinda the "Red Headed Stepchildren" to the 6,7,8,9-second Mustangs and Camaros.
Next year -- I'm going to try real hard to make it to the Mopars on the Strip -- but that's a all Mopar event for NSS (I think).
We've got Milan (MI) coming up in less than three weeks, then the new track in North Carolina, Route 66 in Joliet, IL, the Monster, and then Memphis in late September.

Monster or Memphis....Pretty Red car in backround....
Sounds like Monster should be the best one. I got some guys taking vacation in October so hopefully the last weekend in September will be open. I got to start making plans now.
Last year Damon and I were supposed to go to some race out of town and the damn hurricane hit. I still had power at my house and got a house full of relatives move in on me, so I was stuck at home. Hopefully nothing will throw a wrench in the plans for this year.
