DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
I would have thought ole Albert would get it. he had a .025 light and 10.500 with me -- then in the next round went 10.500 again with a .021 light against Doug Duell.
Berens is not slouch. He runs his number and is as tough as Albert Lee and 00 Joe.
None of them are, they are all tough.
But if I were in his position seeing you coming up so fast in the rear view is more likely to make me push a little harder, and possibly break out. You really bring on a lot of mph on the big end.

I'm running the Coronet too damn hard to go for points with NMCA. Even the fast cars are only twisting their cars to 6500 and I'm twisting mine to 7500 -- causing me to be tightening nuts/bolts and chasing oil leaks between rounds while everyone else is relaxing. I'm going to change the gears to 4.30s and run the car at 6700 -- whatever that gets me. Damon feels I'll be at least as quick -- and maybe quicker as that motor is more of a torque monster than horsepower.
I have to wait to see what the new points totals are -- but I might have moved up to 3rd from 4th. I know that you can throw a blanket over the top four -- before they recalculate the points for the Socialist Champion Points system's Race to the Championship which starts in two weeks. With the new system -- you can no longer win the Championship by just showing upo to all of the races and going rounds. The new system makes the Top Ten show up to all of the races.
I've decided that at least for 2010, I'll make the wagon a more consistent car than fast. I'll most likely start out with it as an automatic as I'm not good at clutch maintenance. I'd rather run a 4-speed -- but with the new points system, everyone is making all of the races -- and the Top 5 in points are all tough. I'll most likely use a low deck motor that I have, which is identical to Fugly's. I' run it as a 10.0-10.5 car in NMCA for 2010 -- and tweak the Coronet for all out none points events like the Monster, Mopars on the Strip, and Good Guys.
Once I have the ring -- then I'll worry less about points and more about fun.
While I've far from given up -- Doug is having a good year and I've been screwing up (although I've made the money rounds five races in a row). He and his cars are too consistent. I don't know that I can get the Coronet as consistent as his car, and I need to work on my consistency. I had light problems this weekend. I've been trying to be careful this year because I red lit in the first round twice last year. My red light against Albert Lee was the first of the year -- but I knew I had to tree him as my car was a little sick and he was perfect.
It's tough beating those guys that race week in and week out Dave, Like you have said before those guys sometimes "live" in their cars. I know you work a lot and have a lot on your plate but we need more pratice, I am going to Monster and I think I am going to try make all the local races I can before that time....

That's great. I've been meaning to call you but I've been under the trailer for two days trying to fix it. I'm also in the air on the closing date (now the closing hour as we're suppose to close today but I don't have the time of the meaning yet), and we have to be out this weekend.
I'd like to not do anything where that car couldn't be later changed to a stick fairly easily. I think once I have the ring -- I'll not worry about points and pick and choose races.
Ordered a Chunk with a 4.30 set up yesterday from Al. Dallas drained the pumpkin and there is a lot of metal coming out.
That could have been from the twisted yoke that we found earlier. Was hoping that there was no damage from that when we put the new steel yoke on.
Should be no problem shifting (no pun intended) things around for the automatic and being able to put the Jerico in later. Can put an auto shifter mount on the upper trans support bar and not have it interfer with any of the 4 speed shifter arrangement.
Fiberglass guys have the hood..........are doing one piece for me to pass judgement on...if all is well...........will give them a go on the rest of the parts........
