DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
We're in South Carolina right now -- should be at the track at about 8-9PM. We'll get in line to spend the night as it was one crowded race. Both NMCA and NMRA will be there.
I had the pleasure of meeting Dave and Dallas at the Z-Max nmca event. This was the first time I had been to Z- Max Dragway and the first NMCA event also. Both are very impressive and are class acts. I have raced the Bristol Dragway owned and rebuilt by Bruton Smith and he does not do anything halfway. There is one problem, in that, the staging lanes are have a slight incline and it really is hard on a race car to have to start and move up several times. Dave had a problem on his first time trial with a weak charge on his battery and his engine temp. was up do the several
move up and waits. All brand are represented there but it is very much a Ford show. My heart is with the NSS Cars and there are some really nice cars running very good numbers.
I live 85 miles from Z Max and I plan to go back on Sunday? I am in the process of rebuilding my '63 Savoy Max Wedge Clone. I have missed much of this season with the car being in the Fab Shop for mini-tubs and narrow dana and my transmission guy says he finished rebuilding and I can pick it up 8/8. Now I can order a new driveshaft and after some assembly required, I can start testing and tweaking what will be a complete new set-up with bigger tires, disc brakes, Cal-Tracs and 60 more cubic inches of Raised Block Wedge.
When I go back Sunday, I will try to get more pictures and get my grandson to show me how to upload the to this site.
If you ever get a chance to meet Dave in person, please do. I only spent a few minutes with him but I can assure you he is the real deal and what you see is definitely what you get. After all he is a MOPAR GUY!!!
Thanx for the very kind words -- it was a pleasure to meet you.
I'm out, I can't hook at this track -- no matter what I tried. It got worse and worse as the week wore on. I normally have a 1.29 60' but was spinning through the 330' with 1.50s in the 60'.
In round one I had Gerry Bates (Red 67 Ford Fairlaine) and treed him .033 to .103. I spun fora 1.672 60', 4.351 330, 6.532 @ 114.37, 8.403 1000', and 9.979 @143.24. I was all over the track and stayed in it to catch him. Almost did as he did a 10.637 @123.60 on a 10.5 and had a slow light. We crossed at about the same time -- but he says he lifted. My car is killing me with the spinning! The track is slippery and alot of fast cars are having problems -- but some like Kurt and DW are not.
TD Holland beat Doug Duell
The princess won against Barry Camp in a squeaker. Barry treed here -- but was at the wrong end of adouble breakout.
DW had a break Bye.
00 Lifted too early and lost to Brian Merrick
Donnie Wilson beat Bud Cochran
Poskivich had a break bye
Skip won against Mike Davis
Ava lost to Roell
and #1 Qualifier Hoblick had a bye.
This is the first time since Atlanta last year that I did make it to the third round. It looks like Skip will pass me up for third -- and the Princess might pass Doug -- and Kurt might pass me up if he goes another round as the Obama Points Redistribution Policy of the NMCA this year gave #5 through #10 points to close them up to the top four.
Barry pulled out this morning. I checked on him at 9AM and he wasn't at the track, and at 11 his truck and trailer was gone.
Dallas is still in and about to go up for the Semis. If he wins this one (goes against a tough yellow Olds 42) -- then he gets a bye to the final. Cross your fingers -- he could use a break.
In NSS
Princess still in
Skip is in
