Moroso sandwich adapter problem

This is just an FYI for anyone trying to use one of Morosos 23690 sandwich adapters. This adapter was designed to allow the use of a dry oiling system and/or an oil accumulator but it's designed wrong. If you try to use it just for an accumulator (as per their instructions) it won't allow oiling to the rest of the engine!

I just got off the phone with Moroso (after spending a week trying to convince them something was wrong with it) and they finally agreed with me. Evidently they redesigned the part recently (the old model was anodized blue and the new one is black) and made a mistake in it's design. The unit will only work properly if you use both a dry pump and an oil accumulator. They also told me they were going to update their site and instructions to include a work around for this problem. (you have to add a T-fitting on the accumulator side and run it to the pump side)

This was good news because it proved I wasn't crazy. (OK,maybe I am crazy but I wasn't wrong) The only problem was I bought this adapter because of header clearance problems and their solution wouldn't fit. (not to mention I had already spent over $100 on 1/2" AN10 fittings and hose for this thing) So being the stand up kind of guys they are they said they'd machine me one that would work and send it out to me by monday. (free of charge)

Even though I had to spend hours on the telephone trying to convince them there was something wrong (and we all know what it's like trying to convince an engineer he's wrong) I have to give them cudos for finally admitting it and doing the right thing. And for that I'll keep doing business with them for years to come.
