DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
I need to hit a couple of home runs to have a chance. The no traction in the last race combined with the Socialist Points system killed me.
Dallas on the other hand is less than 100 points (one round) out of first. He benefited on the new system.
Dave,
I'm not try'in to be a smarta$$ but with traction problems at most tracks why not slow the car down to 10.00. Soft hit at launch and then run a mph. I would think consistancy would make you competitive. I remember a racing a 2 time champion car that ran 10.50 with a 1.60+ 60ft and 130mph+ 10.50 car!! I doubt if he ever spun the tires and then charging at 130+ in a 10.50 car, too hard to judge.
I actually tried that. I slowed down to C/FX for the first time in two years because I was getting 1.5s in the 60. I figured I could run anyone down.
Well I had a 1.69 in my first 60' and thought I chased him down at the top -- but lost by .007 on my package (I had a real good light). I thought I covered him at the line -- but the time slip said different.
Next year I'll run a 10.0 car with an automatic at NMCA races. No more heavy driver's suits, neck braces, window nets, etc. It is just too damn hard to win with thge current points system in with a fast 4-speed on 31" X 10.5W slicks. The wagon can get 33" slicks under it.
