DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
Left Richmond, TX Wednesday at 9:30
Arrived at a Walmart in Perry, MO (two hours south of the track) at 11:30
Walked the three dogs while the Squawk and Dallas got some last minute items
Got up at 6, had breakfast, checked email, and the server
Will shower after everyone else, find a place to dump the holding tanks, get a truck wash, and get in line around noon.
Rained most of the night, and it is very gray right now. I haven't yet checked the weather forecast.
Dave and I will try to get you plenty of updates from the NSS Nationals. On Thursday we dodged light rain but the weather is improving. Friday morning is cloudy but no rain. Saturday and Sunday are going to be dry. As of Thursday night we had 36 NSS cars teched. We think we will tech another 50 cars today. Today NSS will get a time runs at 11 and 2. The lanes are open all day for time trails. Thanks, Doug Duell
OK -- my car went dead at the 1000' in TT and wouldn't start -- so after jacking with it for a couple of hours, I went to the Indy tent and bought a new distributor and wires -- replacing my crank trigger. Fired right up. Although it is not running its number right now.
We thrashed on Dallas' car until 3AM replacing the head gasket -- but his car is still spilling oil out front the new head gasket -- so he's out.
I'm in the second round for class with FX. I'll be running Mitsi at 9am Sunday.
Its Sunday morning and a little chilly, but blue skies. In the middle of the 2nd round of class the rains came back and ended Saturday racing. We had our dinner last night and it was really cool. Herb McCandless was our guest speaker and was great. Dallas won the the $500 TTI gift package. Every race got a Monster shirt and hat. At 9 AM this morning we will finish class run offs and have the eliminator at noonish. Tell you more later. Thanks, Doug Duell
Well another "Dave Duell Classic NSS Nationals" are in the book. Steve Wilson in his 66 Chevy beat Jim Netherland in the the final. Congrats to Steve, he is also the the first non-mopar to win this event. The event was huge with 75 NSS cars registered. We dodged some rain on Saturday but finished class run offs on Sunday morning. Bob will post all the event results soon. Also at our dinner we raised $1081 for Santa Clothes Club, my dads favorite charity. I thank everyone who helped make this event happen and all racers that attended. With a rough economy to have more cars than last year says alot about this event.
