DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
I can't believe that no one wants to pony up for a complete and dynoed 775HP KB 528 NSS wedge. 1 day to go on the eBay auction and lots of tire kickers and folks who want something for very little. I know times are tough out there but come on.
Oh well, tantrum over.
I'm going to start eBay auctions on the 528 parts Sunday night, I know the stuff will sell piecemeal but God, what a waste. I've been tempted to detune it and put it in the 64 Savoy but once again I'd be compromising, so that's off the table. I'll keep the parts that I can use on the hemi that's going in the 64 and sell off the rest.
So, keep your eyes peeled if you are looking for some top notch parts for your race project. I figure the new KB block will go fast and the Victor MW heads should go quick as well.
Snook -- I'll trade you an used Indy tunnel ram and two slightly (3 passes) Bigs Dominators, or a brand new Indy Tarantula Dominator intake and an expensive CNC Dominator (DBE-1050DOM3) pictured below.
DBE-1050DOM-3 ~ Reg. $1425 Sale $1275 This is the exact same Dominator as the DBE-1050DOM-2, except it has a modified CNC billet base plate and metering blocks
For the NSS, lids, Diamondback Carbs and linkage. I'll bet either will make the engine more sale-able
I have to have to order Monday from Indy when I call to order the Jessels, header flanges, gasket set, and other parts to finish my new engine. I need to have it finished and in the car in 3-4 weeks to take the car to Sealy for custom 2.25" headers to be built.
Ok, you'll know in about 13 hours. I really don't need any more parts to sell though. If you're getting the 440-25 and carbs/linkage, the motor is coming all the way down and will be parted out.
I'll shoot you a package price, just let me know exactly what parts you need. The 440-25 is studded now (big improvement, no more stripped bolt holes) and the INDY logos have been milled off. The inline top is what's on there now. The staggered top had a broken off bolt flange and the rest were pretty gnarly, so I had them tig welded up. The holes still need to be drilled though, I haven't gotten around to that.
I can save you some bucks as a new 440-25 is $1150.00 with one top, the other top is going for $325.00. I bought the Fugly carbs from you, so you know what that costs. The linkage is INDY. I was keeping the screened air bells for the hemi but if you need them, I'll sell 'em to you.
You may be interested in the cam as well, it's a custom ISKY piece and I'm using ISKY red zone roller lifters with the EZX option ($1300.00 just for the lifters). Geez, you oughta just buy the whole engine, I'm getting sick just thinking about the $$$ in this one.
I've also got some high dollar T&D rockers and shafts if anyone is interested.
But this might all be moot if someone pony's up tonight.
I can do cash if you rather -- but I think you'd have more luck selling the engine swapping on a more conventional intake/carb setup -- and you'd get more if you parted the more conventional stuff because there is so small of a group that can use the NSS setup -- and all have what they need. Supply and demand for a brand new Indy Dominator intake and CNC milled Dominator, or an Indy Tunnel Ram and pair of Bigs Dominators would be much more on your side for both a complete motor or a the parts alone. Take it from someone who's only unsold Big Block is set up for NSS, and who has tried without success to sell Indy stuff for 75 cents on a dollar. Most NSS people are cheap (because they're mostly in their 60s) and look to do everything on the cheap and themselves. Convert the engine to bracket and you will have a better chance selling as a whole. I really don't think you'll get more money selling the parts.
I only really need the in-line top, and the milling off Indy's logo really doesn't present any value to me. I'm still an Indy dealer -- so I pay WD with them when I order new. I can go with or without the linkage as I have a spare set up. Damon already ordered the cam he spec'd out for this motor (keep in mind I'm a 4-speed and he uses a different cam than with an automatic).
I think a trade would come up with a better value for the both of us -- but shoot me a cash price if you rather.
Chuck -- no answer. I left a message with my cell.
you can always email me at dave@oldhippie.com (I have sketchy cell phone service at the lake when the weather is wierd) and let me know which one to trade for -- and I can get Dallas to box and ship Monday.
