DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
Dear Old Hippies,
I found about your forum when I was web searching different things on the internet and I felt compelled or led to email you. I'm not a Vet
but I have a relative who served in the Vietnam War twice and he's
close to death.
I am writing to you from Tucson, Arizona where the person I am writing about also lives.
I'm looking for some help about my brother-in-law. His name is Ron Lockhart and he served in Vietnam twice. He contacted Agent Orange from it and eventually this is what forced him to have both of his legs amputated.
Ron is in his mid - 50's now and he's not in good shape.
He has a aneurysm close to his heart and he will die within moments if this should break. He also has an artery on the other side that needs operating on.
The Doctors want to cut him open and correct both of these problems at once. His chances of survival are 1 in 2000 and the Doctors are saying that he may very well die on the operating table because he is "very high risk" for having any sort of operation what so ever at this time.
What Ron really needs now is SUPPORT. Is there any way we can get Vets, non - Vets, you name it to send this loving man an email card a long with a letter or note?
His wife works and he's home alone a lot. This isn't very pleasant for him and I think it would really make him feel good to open up his email box and see letters coming in from people who care.
Ron has a computer in his home and opens his email box up every day. It would mean so much to him to receive letters of support from people, and especially from Vets who have "been there and done it," and can let him know that they understand.
Thank you for your prayers and your help. God bless you and Thank you to any and all of the Vets who may be reading this for serving our country. I can't thank you enough.
Regards,
Karen Waugh (Ron's sister-in-law)
