NSS race at Chandler

August 7th is the date for the NSS race at Chandler Motorsports Park in Chandler,IN. They will be at least a $2500 purse up for grabs. This a Saturday only race. More details to follow. Thanks, Doug

Doug, What's the rules for the Chandler race. Still trans brakes and dial ins? Not a fan of trans brakes (favors the fast, hard leaving cars). I'm cool with dial ins. Might make this one, it's penciled in....

Why not the NSS Rules?

The first two years of the Chandler NSS race were a closed event, a booked-in match racing show.

The past two years were an open event contested under standard rules (no transbrakes) with a dial-in.

To our knowledge, no one competed with a transbrake the past two years; I don't recall anyone receiving a waiver or even a discussion about one.

For the 2010 event, the plan is to use standard rules with eighth-mile indexes.

Sorry, I was thinking last year trans brakes were used, MY BAD.

We'll put this one one the schedule. Since it's 1/8 mile, my son Gabe will be piloting He likes the 'short track' racing, guess it goes back to his Jr Dragster days.. This will be his very first NSS race. After all, we got to get a new generation involved....we're all slowly turning to DIRT!

I like to think of the process as turning back into STARDUST.

Each year we have more youngsters, sons and daughters, nephews and nieces, neighbors and friends, getting into the class.

This is clearly a good thing for our sport and all of us veterans should encourage it as best we can.

I dragged Dallas into it kicking and screaming for now -- however I think he is really looking forward running my Tube Chassis Barracuda. He first will need to learn how to Crew Chief something that extreme with power adders, and makes friends with a group that help crew for him. In the meantime, he's learning by being the Crew Chief on our cars.
