I have no problem being WRONG, hell I have been wrong so many times I have lost count.

I just didn't know being wrong made me an ass.....

But I don't think I was wrong about the 409, I still don't believe that a Mark IV block should be in anything older than a 65. Just doesn't look right in my opinion. (which I stated before my opinion doesnt mean chit)

Hey I found me a new shirt.........

Just my opinions.....

61 Tempest with a V8? Back in the day a lot of older cars were given a face lift to make them appear a year newer or something. If the 61-62 Tempest was identical in all respects, take off the serial number and claim it as a 62 or update it to look like a 63. Make it look like a duck.

I know the AMX being allowed was a big problem when they first allowed it, and yes, it is a "pony" car like the Mustangs and Camaro's....... and Barracuda. They made room for the Barracuda so why not open it up to the AMX, the ONLY thing they could allow into NSS for the AMC guys. The SC/Ramblers are out there, but I don't remember them ever being offered in S/S trim like the AMX so that kills that. The single 4 bbl rule? Other makes are allowed to run them so why not. As stated by someone, those cross rams are near impossible to find and if you do see one they are getting to be closing in on $2K to buy one (without carbs!). That alone would keep ME from building an AMX for NSS. Otherwise I would dare to be different and build one!!! Love my AMC's! I had a chance to buy one a few years ago and passed on it just because of the intake rule.

When it gets down to it, it doesn't matter what the car or combo is when you hit the track, you still have to cut a light and run your number. My car (when I ever get to start working on it) will be by the book and legal. That is the way you build them for a class!!! I wanna play with y'all too!!!

OK Mark..... start throwing the rocks at me now.

Might as well throw my 2c in-the part I can't comprehend has to do with the first two lines of the NSS rules -same dissertation has been there for years (minus the NSSNA part):" As administered by the NSSNA, Nostalgia Super Stock is an index-style foot brake only eliminator for the year models, body styles, and engine combinations which accurately represent those American-built cars that raced in the Factory Experimental and Super Stock classes of the early and mid-1960s. "
WHAT FREAKIN PART of accurately depict....cars that raced ....FX and S/S ....1960's do people have a hard time comprehending????
Regardless of everything that follows, that is the general intent and entire reason for the class...deciding to include Pintos with cammers is not an option according to the FIRST 2 sentences of the intent of the class- this also precludes Dominators, Lencos, 65" slicks, tubular chassis ,and on and on.....going the direction many seem to want to go makes it Nostalgia whatyabrung. If somebody wants to race the class, build a car that fits- if you don't want to do that , then you don't really want to race NSS do you?

Actually , their were big inch motors then and ladder bars.....some of the other no, but much of that has to do with safety...is it a 100% accurate depiction....no.....but it is very close to the intent of the class the way it was started.....my point is when you start mixing engines that are nowhere close to what was available ( IE 65 and later Chebby blocks, late model fords or worse, pony cars), pretty soon you have a class that is indistinguishable from Friday night brackets.....the old engines and combo's are part of the challenge IMO

Cherry-picking paragraphs out of context is not an accurate representation of the rules

Really- all I did was shorten the sentence so I didn't have to type the whole thing. That sentence or something very similar has been in the 1rst paragraph of the rule book since Tony had NMCA years ago....It is not a rule but a description of the class which the rules should support.
