DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
Doin great. Just enjoying the (not so) "Great rules debate 2010". May start a NSSPA (National Super Stock Pinto Assn.) class. 2.2 liter ONLY! No 2.3's, heaven forbid a "late model" 2.8 V-6! That would really basterdize the class! Dagenham 4 speeds only, no lencos, glides or 5 speeds. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, we have to keep it genuine Pinto, so ORIGINAL FUEL TANKS (the kind that go boom in a rear engine collision) MUST BE RETAINED!!!
ATTENTION, ATTENTION: The horse is now been pronounced "officially dead", everyone please coninue to wack away at your heart's content!
The Malibu (WITH A CORRECT ERA, MK-4 RAT, by the way) (sorry, only 1-4bbl, the way it was made) is going to the fab shop end of the month for mini tubs and frame triming. Hope to get those 10' tires I got at Monster to fit.
Decided to go the Fugly route and not touch the engine (wouldn't want to jeprodize the remaining year of factory crate motor warranty!). I will splurge and change oil/filter and check/set the valves, like I did last year.
See you guys and gals the first weekend of May in one of two places......
Yea, I made an appointment about three months ago to bring it in on the week of Dec 15th for a roll bar install. Told me about a three day turnaround.
I am not mad or dissin the guy... The weather has knocked his power out a couple of times and he got backed up on some other guys car... He has been honest and communicative... just need my car back.
I wanted to try and finish it to run the Texas Thaw with. I don't even know if I will get it back in time to even make it up there with the stock motor, but I want to try.
If eventually it all works out. I will probably race that car and sell the Chevelle. That Chevelle while a damn nice car was just never me.
As you know I bought it when the Outsiders series seemed promising down here. Now I am down to racing one NSS Race a year with that car. If I am just going to wind up being a bracket racer, I am racing something I want to run. That being said, I doubt if I will sell that car this year, I would like to see how Dago's thing works out. If Dago's race series works out and that 409 motor from Bill Mitchell really pans out, I will probably still sell the Chevelle and build a 409 Car. I will probably still need to park down at the end and will probably still catch chit from everybody telling me how my Chevy isn;'t really a NSS car but at least I will be racing something that says Me.
