DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
In order to be eligible for NMCA-Edelbrock official contingency program, all contingency decals are required to appear only on the rear quarter windows, rear quarter panel, or rear window in a clear and organized fashion.
Who did they consult for these great changes? It looks like universal rules have gone out the door -- unless these are the rules at the Monster too.
OooooWeeee. NSS rules now allow Rat motors in 59-64 Chevys, single 4bbl carbs on AMXs, and the only rules to force NSS cars to run their stickers on the windows. I wonder who y'all consulted in NSS for this? This ought to be the final nail in the coffin for quite a few of the NSS guys that were sitting on the fence.
Looks like it will be less competition for me this year -- and against Chevys with the wrong motors. It also would appear that the Universal NSS rule thing is no longer going to be a reality -- as I can't imagine any of the guys on the rule committee agreeing to that crap.
Hell let's go to tunnel rams, Dominators, Pro-stock hood scoops, transbrakes, NOS, and electronics too. How about mufflers -- you guys forgot that one.
Maybe we can call the class SNSS for Semi-Nostalgia Super Stock.
It appears that AHRA got the problems cleared up with the NHRA tracks -- as they released the date for the LA race.
If they do run a NSS program -- I don't know if I'll run NMCA or not. I don't like NMCA's rule changes at all -- and I sure hope that Doug, Jim, Grinwald, Clay,.... didn't agree to this.
They are NOT forcing you to run the decals on the windows, just giving the option to run em either on the quarter windows, quarter Panels or the rear window.........
rat motors in the early chevys?...never said a thing to me.........or any of the rest ...
M.
Will be looking HARD for that 62 now...already have the top..
I think we're about to see a flood of early Chevys at NMCA since they're allowed to run the least expense engine to make power, because of the most available speed parts. I love the 59-64 Chevys -- but in the day they ran the W-motor because that was their best motor. It just doesn't seem to be a change in the spirit of tradition.
On the AMX -- there were a lot of drivers (I wasn't really one on this) who felt it wasn't right for TD Holland to be running one carb, because the few AMXs that run in the day had the Group 16 2X4 carb set up. This change is going to piss off a lot of drivers (not really me on this one) who feel like when they complained about NMCA letting someone run outside of the rules -- that the NMCA's response was to change the rules. Just reporting the facts on this one -- there are going to be a lot of people pissed -- especially since it was so political that AMXs were allowed to run NSS in the first place.
I guess the part that personally pisses me off most -- is that it appears that NMCA doesn't understand the tradition of NSS -- yet feels comfortable to change to rules to accommodate someone with what to others is a major rule change -- without listening to the NSS drivers. It would appear that they just don't care what the NSS drivers think, or they would include them.
Then again if they included the rules committee on this -- then it is they and not the NMCA who was wrong.
In mY opinion (which doesn't count for chit) Mopars have been running the wrong blocks for years. Bout time they let the Cheby guys do it.
Which is really to bad. I was reading a Bill Mitchell ad yesterday claiming he had aluminum 409 blocks and heads available. Wasn't on his website yet......Wonder how much that will set you back?
