DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
Time lapse photos from mid 2003 to this week on the wagon. I bought it as a 4-door, slant 6, three on the tree in mid 2003 and sent it to Hemi-Tyme to blast, fix the body, and prime. In 2004, it went to Texas Thunder to become a NSS car -- including converting it to a rare (for 1960) 2-door wagon.
It has been a long and expensive seven years -- but we're rounding third and heading for Home.
Mark (and Ken before him on the blasting and body work) has done an excellent job -- and this will be an attention getter showcasing a quality build.
And every now and then someone claims that there is no such thing as a 60 Plymouth 2dr wagon. They're wrong -- 60 was the last year for the Plymouth 2-door wagon. This is an exact copy of that car -- using a 2-door post for the correct parts found in the 2 door wagon.
I'll admit it!!! But like any good Conservative, I figured a little fact checking and research first. Pretty interesting stuff. The 2 door was built for government and municipal applications like police, government/military transport, correctional facilities etc. (not much of a chance of opening the door and jumping out without a door...). Civilians could special order them, and they were very popular with tradesmen like electricians, plumbers and, not surprisingly, funeral homes.
And it was in these types of special order rigs where many of the high performance big block parts got their shakedown under names like "police interceptor package" or "severe use option".
You know me and station wagons. I'm really looking forward to seeing it "haul"
