Default 63 Galaxie needs tires.

Guys,
I've got everything for my engine and it's being decked and line bored now getting ready for assembly. The 3 Dyno programs I've used say I'm running between 390-420 HP with about 310-345 rear wheel HP.
I've researched the forums on umteen websites trying to figure out which size and compound tire I need to run on my car. Everybody out there has a different opinion and none of them races 4000 lb 63-64 Galaxie's. Cam Research built my cam to match the compontents in and on my car and I supposibly will be shifting at 5000 rpm. At @ 200 dollars a pop I'd like to get it right the first time when it comes to buying tires. The car has a C6 Broader Racing Transmission with the lower 1st and 2nd gears and a 10" forged 2500 stall converter. The kicker is I bought a 3.25 Trac-Loc from Just Rear Ends so I could put street tires on it and go to a car show if I wanted to.
If anyone out there has run a car like mine ( especially at lower altitudes) I'd appreciate knowing what size and compound tire you would recommend. ( The fenders have to stay where they are) Thanks, Jim

Are you going to run stock appearing tires?

Why does it seem everyone has no time to do something right but they have time to do it twice????

JMO,but I would look at Mickey Thompson,BFG,and Nitto drag radials. The width, and diameter will depend on how much tire will fit into the wheel wells. For slicks I prefer MT's automatic compound
