DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
Isn't it amazing what a bent 6 and a hair drier (or two!) can do? Who'd have thought they would have evolved to the badass cars they became when you look at the butt-ugly '78 with a two barrel carb?

Back to the Hemi Cuda...
Charlie Blankenship's name is on the windows. Anyone know anything about the car he was running prior it getting sold to the collection in 2005? I know the car sold for $106,000 in 2005.
I'd like to find out any history about the car -- or anything else anyone might know about the car.
If Blankinship's name is on the window it is the original "Death wish" cuda that Pancake raced through the mid 70's, 80's and until about 91'. The car has been reworked several times and has a bunch of laps on it. It was a real car. Jim and I were talking about it just last summer, he said it was just worn out and out dated. Don't know if it has been upgraded. Charlie only drug it around to show, never seen him make a pass with it.
Dan -- I'm pretty sure that's the more recent 68 Cuda that Jim Pancake ran/runs and not the "Death Wish" he raced in the 70s and 80s.
I know he owns a Chrysler/Dodge dealership, was racing a yellow Cuda like that recently, and also (maybe replaced the Cuda) a 68 Hemi Dodge in the same paint scheme.
Dave, I have a friend who is real knowledgeable about the 68 Hemi cars. I will try to get in touch with him and see what he knows. He knows all these guys and has seen all the Hemi cars race as his family owned a dealership and he raced hemis of one kind or another for years. He is just finishing a 68 Dart.
Jim N.
Dave, The yellow car was also a original car as well. He still has it. That is the one that he replaced the original "Death wish" cuda with which was all black with Death wish written on the doors with a set of wings. I will call Jim P tomorrow and ask him for some pics and info on the car for you. I can tell you from memory it was tubbed with ladder bars and basically a mid ten second car. He won a ton of bracket races with it at Trails and Marion Co.
