DUMPSTER This is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.

Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.

Just my own observation –

Both current and future conditions in the general economy will no longer support specialized classes like Hemi-only, Max Wedge-only or even brand specific, Chrysler, Ford, Pontiac, etc., formatted events.

The brand loyalties among individual racers will remain strong but they will not have enough dollars to continue self-funding special events as in the past. Both racers and promoters will need to bring in spectator dollars and that will require a NSS-style show.

The irony is that the growing portion of drag racing for the next decade or so will be nostalgia events – general and inclusive events at the regional and national levels along with scripted match racing shows at the local level.

These are the choices promoters will be dealing with.

NSS management for the Monster and NMCA, along with some private clubs, have been pioneers in anticipating this trend.
