DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.

They're clamping down on declaring indexes. If you have failed to ensure that you declared your Index by the first Qualifying -- you are assumed in A/NSS.
What is missing is the clarification of 2.12b and 2.13 Manual transmissions -- spelling out more specifically what was a purpose built manual transmission. That whole section is unchanged. I'd heard conversations in the pits involving NMCA tech that they'd clarify the Lenco situation -- but either they changed their mind or over-looked it.
Troublemaker that I am -- I sent the following to the Rules Committee at NMCA
- Full Name Dave Schultz
- Class A/FX expected for 2009
- NMCA Competition Number 7601
- Membership expiration date 12/31/08 - renewing for 2009
In 2.12b (Manual Transmissions A/FX-AAA/FX), my understanding was that maybe the Lenco controversy was to be addressed with the inclusion of the word "Planetary" when describing manual transmissions legal in A/FX-AAA/FX, & 2.13 (Purpose Built Manual Transmissions) specifically stating that "Lenco Type" of manual transmissions were prohibited. Also -- do you want to address the NMCA's position of one shifter lever for forward speeds vs. lightning rods in Nostalgia Super Stock?
I am one of many stick shift FX drivers who can look the other way while holding my nose at 5-speed and clutch-less for A/FX-AAA/FX -- really feel that Lencos and Lightning Rods really take away from the spirit of the class. I hope the rules committee will consider this point and slow down on rules changes outside the spirit of one of the few classes that should remain Nostalgic.
