DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
Thanks trannyman, getting done what I can, when I can. Had the boy over here for a few days, so we stripped her down and got her ready to head off for paint. It's going up on a rotisserie and the bottom will be the same color in single stage, the rest of the body will be base/clear. I let the wife pick between 1964 KK1 and 1969 Q5 and she went for the KK1. If it's done right it looks really nice.
I'm getting an education in hemi parts prices. Good lord. My scrounging abilities will be put to the test on this one. 4 speed parts are not that bad. Interior pieces prices are bad but manageable, the worst costs will be getting the door panels done. The dash is a good piece but everything is going to have to be refurbished, I'm really glad I pulled it out of the car. The dash, carpet, seats and interior trim will be fawn/sandalwood/gold colors.
Of course, the bumpers need rechromed but they are nice cores. The savoy plymouth script emblems are not there but repops are available at $30 each. The exterior trim was on the car with double backed tape (that's all I'm saying about that), so some of the trim is not savable. So, I'll be looking for that hard to find trim.
Glass was all good. Body is good, got some small spots to fix, but all in all a pretty solid car. The hemi scoop is a kramers piece, very nice and will look good. The hood will be cut, ala 64 hemi cars using two air bells sealed to the underside of the hood. I'll do that after it gets back from paint, I need to do the location bit first.
The car has a narrowed 8 3/4" rear in there but it's coming out. I got a shortened Dana 60 housing with the car and a 4.10 gear set. The dana is going in with a locker and some good axles. That should stand up to a couple of 4 speed launches.
Well, it's off to the shop. Did a color change too. Was going with 1964 KK1 turquoise but instead will go with 1969 Q5 Bright Turquoise (wife change), should look good though. Here's a few links to the colors:
