DUMPSTERThis is where threads go to die. Old threads are moved here (and displayed in reverse order) before they're forever deleted. While they'll most likely not be moved out out of the dumpster -- those posted to will gain a short reprieve of a month or two. Obviously no threads are to be started in this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
I'll betcha that thing has a throttle cable that can be moved a bit to limit it if necessary...like all the Mopar folks do..........

With little or no seat time and experience with the car, I'd suggest you'd enter the "bracket race" to get an extra time trial Sunday morning along with first rd of the bracket race. Move the throttle cable forward approx 1/8-1/4" to slow down a tenth.
Good luck
The first round eliminations is scheduled for before the brackets. Plus you are only allowed to run the same car in one event. You have to get eliminated before going to brackets. I've adjusted the cable lots. Twice. Not only that, it turns out that I wasn't wot when I adjusted the first time. In retrospect I should have seen that and ran the car as B/NSS. In the last qualifier I took a lot of cable out, launch at 2000 and shifted at 6000. I then lifted at 100' before the et beams. (amazind how much easier to even see that when going that slow). I still did a 10.90 @ 112. Made me the worse qualifier 11th. I get Doug Duell in the first round and he's dead nuts on. I want this bad because Ive been his bitch 0 for 4 and the odds are more against me now than ever. I need to tree him and lift much earlier. He is so much faster (9.5 with his new bullet) that I can't make a decision at the line. I need to focus like never before and some luck.
Ok we got in line and the rain started. Now it is really coming down. They say to hang loose until 3:30 for the next word but I'm sure that Its only for the vendors. No way were racing today. A lot of people have left but I can't take the chance they hold this over for Monday. I don't have reservations and it is suppose rain Monday anyway. I've still got to drive 1100 to drive.
Man I don't know exactly where you are in Florida, but we got 30+ MPH gust here. If y'all get what we have now got, your are going to get blown off the track.

Yup in the three TT and three Qualifying passes, I couldn't figure out how to slow down the car enough legally -- so I qualified 11 our of 11, putting me against Doug Duell who was on his number. I figured that he'd figure I'd break out -- so I went like Hell and then hit the breaks at about the 1100' mark. It was a little too early, he saw the front end dive and lifted for a 9.52 and I had a 11.19. I had him on the tree (although we both kinda sucked) but it wasn't enough. I need to put a weight box in the car -- and take it to the track and figure it out. The first time I'd sat in the car was Friday. I was told that it was having a hard time running a 10.5, so I figured it surely wouldn't do it with me. But thinking it over he was racing in New Mexico, Colorado, and Las Vegas where the air is bad. He was also telling me to launch the car at 4500 -- and I was doing a much better 60' when I started launching at 2000. I think the car is a 10.5 car with me if I air it out.
We left at 10:30 and I drove straight -- getting to the shop at 3AM. Unloaded and checked on ta few things -- then headed to the lake -- getting here at 5:30. Too late to go to sleep -- so I'll have to skip a night's sleep.
We're going to get both of the Coronets to the track this Saturday and try to iron them out.
