Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
View Poll Results: What was the First Year of The Mercury Comet?
However, the correct answer was the MERCURYComet came out in 1962. I had one of them.
The Comet was originally going to be an Edsel. It was a longer version of the Falcon -- and if you look at the back of the car -- you can see it has an Edsel resemblance. However, Ford knew it was going to pull the plug on the Edsel in early 1960 but wanted the Comet to live on -- and so the Comet wasn't a Ford, Mercury, or and Edsel -- just a Comet. Its own make. Just like the 1960 Valiant wasn't a Plymouth -- but it's own make.
It wasn't until 1962 when the Comet was restyled with round tail lights that it became a Mercury.
