Phil Bonner was my childhood hero! First saw him running a 61 Starliner at Yellow River Drag Strip. He was sponsored by Al Means Ford. Later he was sponsored by Frank Vega Ford. Frank had a "Big Daddy Roth" style mural of the 65 Falcon on the front window of the dealer ship. Lettered "My Boy Phil". The early 60's saw lots of SS and A/FX racers in the Atlanta area! Those were the days!
