1968 Volkswagen Beetle. It's the first car I bought with my own money. Only car wife and I had was hers when we got married. It was about a 1958 AMC that her grandmother bought for her, don't remember what model but it had power EVERYTHING! I wrecked it so many times it just couldn't be repaired any more. Boy was her grandmother impressed!
My Dad bought a new Desoto in 1947 and kept it in the family
until 1960. He gave it to me when I got my D.L. in 1960. At the time I thought "what a tank". It was the 4-door sedan with green paint
and a velour type interior. 50 years later I wish I still had it. I drove it
for 2 years, then moved up to a 55 Plymouth ( 4-dr sedan ).
My first car (used) was a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner purchased for $600 with 63K Miles on it. This was a 383 with a 4spd and the optional Coyote Duster intake (5 extra horsepower). See photos of the car as it sat in the driveway for the first time:
My first car (new) was a 1979 Chevrolet Corvette purchased for $11,500 which was the GM employee price. This was with the optional L-82 Engine and complete spoiler package which was new that year see photos:
I married my first car, a 1955 chevy with a four in the floor, 327 engine street rod . Husband lovd to drag race .
We were in Daytona one year and I learned the hard way about Nomad Wagon wh motioned to drag, I laughed at this station wagon wanted to drag me , he left me in his dust after his front end came off the pavement .
Mine was a 1960 Pontiac Ventura,389 tripower,4speed,4.10 posi.
Bought it when I was 15 and the guy talked my mother into it instead of the '55 chevy I wanted.I am sure glad he did.
I drove that car all through high school.
