The first car I ever owned was a green 1970 Chevy Nova. I was 18 and I bought it for $3,000 and owned it for about 15 years. The car I traded it for was carp.
1968 plymouth valiant, slant six,auto- the car was so bare bones,no p/s,no p/b,etc-it did not even have an electric windshield washer pump, it had a bellows above the dimmer switch on the floor(remember those) you had to press with your foot to get the fluid to squirt onto the windshield.

It depends on what you mean by "first". The first car I possessed was a 1964 (I think) Renault Caravelle S convertible that my Dad had bought many years prior as a project (Dad was a Renault guy). He got tired of the project when he realized the rust in the front part of the unibody was getting out of control and would need major replacement surgery and gave it to me when I was about 18 or 19. While it was a coll little car for what it was, I wanted something I could drive and enjoy immediately, so I put the little Caravelle up for sale. I sold it for $800 (my Dad thought it was worthless) and went shopping for a replacement. By the way, this is what a fully restored Caravelle looked like.
After a few near misses (including a 73,000 1969 Firebird convertible that I missed by 15 minutes.... for $300!!!!!), we went to visit a family friend who had a 1966 Pontiac Tempest Custom sport coupe that he had owned since new. I had wanted the car since I was 15 but he had always said it wasn't for sale. This day, when I asked, he replied, "How much will you give me?" Long story short, I bought it that day for $700. It wasn't a race car by any imagination, but it worked perfectly for me at the time.... overhead cam 6 engine, automatic (I wanted a stick, but I wasn't arguing!), power steering and brakes, whitewalls and wheel covers and a pushbutton AM radio.
I still own the car, though it has deteriorated considerably from years of neglect and lack of proper storage (I've owned GTOs that have taken my attention elsewhere in the past). I have promised myself that this year I will at least get it running and drivable again. As soon as I find my photo album, I'll scan in pics taken when I first got it.... I'm too embarassed to show how it looks now!
1957 ford 300 custom 312c.i. 270 h.p. 3 on the tree no heat vacume wipers that didn't work worth a darn. Wide whites all the way around with dual exhaust. It served the purpose.had a lot of fun with that ride.later,matt.
1970 Dodge Charger. I had it for about 5 years. Wrecked twice (neither my fault) and finally sold it to pay for a new Mitsubishi Might Max truck.....which was a great truck until it was stolen and totaled.
Actually all the Trucks I've owned have been great vehicles, some of the cars..not so much.
