God Bless TexasThe Old Hippie is a Texan. Actually, with the way the USA is going to total Government Control -- I'm a Texan first, as I prefer freedom.
I invite others Texans (even honorary Texans) to post Texas News, Humor, or events to this forum.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
Well, this sounds like a victory for the good guys if I'm reading this correctly.

The Supreme Court on Friday ruled in a Texas political dispute, rejecting judge-drawn election maps favoring minority candidates and Democrats in the 2012 congressional and state legislature elections.
In its first ruling on political boundary-drawing based on the 2010 U.S. Census, the high court unanimously set aside the interim maps created by federal district court judges in San Antonio.

After the 2010 Census, Texas got four new congressional seats, giving it 36. The legislature's plan, signed by Texas Governor Rick Perry, who dropped out of the Republican presidential race on Thursday, created only one new heavily Hispanic district.
Well, again, if I'm reading this all correctly from my office in Missouri, it would appear that a serious attempt at rigging Texas Politics to flip from Red to Blue....regardless of the realities of the Texas people...has failed. I suppose the Super-Court is on a roll here for decent decisions. How long can the roll last?

Oooooh, our legislature is fussin' and cussin' over this issue too. It was said that some of our legislators were using their outdoor voices indoors when they saw the results of the re-drawn districts! Shocking.
I hope this is the beginning of the end of osama forever. There are lots of osama-like issues before the Supreme Court - like this and osamacare - before The Court. They go against the Constitution.
The Democrats in Texas use to be Blue Dog -- and tolerable. I think Bush was actually he first Republican Governor of Texas -- but Congress remains Democrat. However as the Blue Dogs die off -- they're being replaced my very radical minorities of the Sheila Jacka$$ Lee (yes I know she's Federal and not State) -- and gerrymandering is the number one goal of theirs. It is already stacked in their favor -- making it near impossible for a Republican Majority Congress.
