Default Struggle for gun rights intensifies

As the Obama administration’s efforts to limit access to guns continue to pit different interest groups against each other, a pastor has urged members of his congregation to bring their guns to church.
Ken Pagano, the pastor of the New Bethel Church in Louisville, Kentucky, recently urged his flock to wear or carry their firearms into the sanctuary to "celebrate our rights as Americans," according to the New York Times.
"God and guns were part of the foundation of this country," he says, quoted by the newspaper.
"I don’t see any contradiction in this. Not every Christian denomination is pacifist," he stresses.
Meanwhile, in a sign that the ideological conflict between supporters and opponents of gun rights is far from abating, state legislatures across the country have rejected bills that would make it obligatory for colleges and universities to allow students to carry loaded, hidden handguns on campuses.
According to the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, by the end of the current legislative session, a total of 22 states rejected 34 bills to that effect.
Moreover, as Andy Pelosi, president of GunFreeKids.org and head of The Campaign to Keep Guns off Campus, points out, "College students are joining the fight for a safer America and as history demonstrates, the important social movements in our country have always been fueled by young people."

Why does it seem everyone has no time to do something right but they have time to do it twice????

Here in PA, we have several pieces of legislation that we can get out of their liberal-led committees; one is a strengthening of a stand-your-ground policy; not as broad as the one in TX, but a big step towards keeping asshat prosecutors and DAs from messing with a clean defensive shoot; the other is a law to prevent the criminal in a clean shoot (or his family) from suing the legal shooter. In PA right now, if I shoot you under justified conditions, I can still be held liable for you injury or death in a civil court...this holds true for our cops, too.

The PA House has 203 members. Three seats are empty, and the bill has 133 co-sponsors. 17 of the 26 members on the judicial committee, where it is stalled, support the measure. One single liberal clown from Philadelphia is preventing this bill from leaving committee to go to the floor for a straight up and down vote.

Representative democracy is dead in Pennsylvania.
