Tell us about it: I never buy something I can't afford and I always buy for cash, as I never want to owe anyone anything. When I want something bad -- I put a photo of it where I can see it many times a day -- and that motivates me to go the extra mile to work for the funds to buy it. For instance, in 1991 I wanted a Rolex President watch. At the time my business was doing about $35,000 a month in fee and earning a 15% profit. So I told myself that if I ever got to $100,000 a month in fee at 15% profit -- I'd reward myself with the watch I wanted -- and hung up an advertisement of of a Rolex Day/Datejust President. On April 30, 1994 I hit the $100,000 in fee -- and immediately after work bought myself the Rolex (which I've worn everyday since -- and will be on my wrist when I die) and upgraded my wife's 1/2 carat diamond to a 3.5 carat diamond. That's how my little self-motivation system has always worked.
So I did with the Viper. When they came out I told myself I needed one, and the plan was launched to give it to myself. In 1990, I started a business with a $75,000 loan and busted my as 15 hours a day 7 days a week to build it. In 1996, I tried to sell it -- but didn't get an offer close to what I wanted -- but I did learn what adjustments were needed to to get the price I wanted ($10,000,000). I told myself then that if I got my price -- I'd reward my family with a nice lake house and upgrade to a nice diesel-pusher motor coach -- and reward myself with a Viper GTS. I then hung brochures of the three on the backboard of my credenza. In June 1998, I sold the business for $16,000,000 -- and a week later I ordered this black on black Viper. It arrived about a year later. It is bone stock and has only 3000 miles on it. I drive it monthly. It too will be in my garage the day I die.
Year/Make/Model: 1981 Imperial Exterior Color: 1968 Corvette Metallic Blue Interior Color: Royal Blue Velour Engine: 400hp 360 ci Transmission: Street/Strip 904 Rear End: 8.75" from 1968 Charger 3.55:1 Gears Options: Imperials came Loaded from the factory How long have your owned: Since I traded my brother a 67 Newport Convertible for it in 1987 Tell us about it: My brother bought this car from the original owner in 1983 -- but frustration with the EFI and Digital dash had him offer to trade this 24000 mile car to me for my 67 Chrysler Newport Convertible in 1987. It was originally a light metallic blue and he painted white when there was problems with the blue paint. I alternated the car as my daily driver, until one cold morning in 1989, I started the car and there was no oil pressure. I was unemployed, flat broke and couldn't afford to fix -- so I parked in my barn and never touched again until 2000 -- when I pulled out of the garage, stripped, and rebuilt as a pro-touring machine. The engine is a 400hp 360, the transmission a street/strip 904, the rear end a 8.75", dual 2.5" exhaust with Flowmaster 50s and high flow cats. The suspension was don't as G-Force, the wheels 17" front and 18" rear, and tires low profile.

Tell us about it:I picked this up to replace my Isuzu Trooper (which I've given to my 16 yr old girl). Its a decent old Ford truck, & my 1st venture into FoMoCo's running IH diesel power. I'm pretty partial to the '80-'86 F series body style, as evidenced by the last pic! The winch truck is my '82 F600 (8.2 Detroit) & the reddish one is my good old '81 F350 (300-6, baby) that I've had for over a decade.

Engine: 5.7 Hemi
Transmission: 6-Speed Tremec

How long have your owned: 2 days
Tell us about it: Four years ago when the show car came out -- I knew I needed one. I really a STR8 6-speed -- but the 6.1 Hemi is breaking the 6-speeds so they're still not making them. With GM and Chrysler in merger talks -- I couldn't take the chance of ordering -- as I think they might stop production of these. I've waited 6 weeks for a 6-speed to come to Houston -- and snatched it up immediately. It isn't exactly the way I'd have had one built for me -- but a bird in the hand.... If they keep building these cars -- I'll maybe upgrade to a STR8 my way.
I also plan to buy a stripper and strip it down, sell the parts, and make a race car out of it.
