NSS-Racing.com Nostalgia Drag Racing (Nostalgia Classes) This is now the new official board for NSS-Racing.com -- a site dedicated to Nostalgia Super Stock & Nostalgia Muscle Car Drag Racing. The reason it is hosted by this site, and didn't migrate to www.MoparStyle.com with the rest of the MoPowerStyle sites -- is because this site has forums for other American Cars -- and not just Mopars.

Sorry I didn't update since Saturday night -- but my Internet air card wouldn't work.

I ran my number against Mitzi for the FX Class -- but I red. I know this sounds like an excuse (and it is weak) -- but I was confused and thought I was running a Qualifying pass (I forgot Monster doesn't do those) and I pushed the light. I actually thought I'd won (even knowing I lit the stupid bulb) -- until the revelation came to me. Mitzi got a bye in the next round, and then the other guy went red in the final. It was exactly ten years since Bill had last raced and won class -- so she was very happy.

On Sunday in Eliminations -- I got a first round bye. In the Second round against the Psychotic Reaction car -- I had a .020 light and ran a 9.501. In the third round I had a good light and a pretty good run -- but Charlie (59 Chevy) had a great run with a .023 and 11.503. He, and every other run in the forth round had a red light. Four red lights!

We left the track at 8PM and drove all night arriving home at 11:30 this morning.

I took a ton of photos -- and will try to process them and post a link.

Doug Duell also sent me a few photos to post.

Doug Duell's Winners photo

By the way -- we thrashed in my pits all weekend long -- including until 2:30AM changing a head gasket on the black car -- and replacing the crank trigger with a distributor on my car.

Doug's are up now -- mine later.

Default Dave Thanks!

Dave thanks for the site and what you do for NSS racing. It was an "ALMOST PERFECT" weekend for Cindy and I, other than we had to drive all night and just come in and shower and go to work today. The 75 cars and some great racing. I have never went that many rounds in a row I don't think. Steve and I had a great race. Our reaction times were very close and it was close at the big end. What kept me awake to get home was rerunning that race over and over but his win light still came on. He earned it and I'm glad for him. I've know him a long time and he's a good guy. Like Doug stated, It was not going to be a Mopar win this year as going into the finals, it was Chevy vs Buick. If you missed it come on out next yeear and enjoy the fun. Another thing I really enjoyed was talking to Herb about the days he first started racing and would come to Union HIll in Nashville TN to race. He shared several stories about those days with me Sat. night. I was racing there at the time and remember him well.
Later
Jim N.
