| NSS-Racing.com Nostalgia Drag Racing (Nostalgia Classes) This is now the new official board for NSS-Racing.com -- a site dedicated to Nostalgia Super Stock & Nostalgia Muscle Car Drag Racing. The reason it is hosted by this site, and didn't migrate to www.MoparStyle.com with the rest of the MoPowerStyle sites -- is because this site has forums for other American Cars -- and not just Mopars. | | | | | | HMFIC | | Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: SE Texas Age: 54

| | 2 Door Wagon I have always loved 2 door wagons. Buick didn't make one in 67 or I would be running one. About the neatest I ever remember is a local guy had an Edsel 2 door wagon with I think a 410 and 3 speed. It was just stock other than mufflers, but he raised -ell around town with it. He traded it for a new Ford of some kind and my father was having work done to his Y-Block 57 and had to leave it over night. They gave us the Edsel to drive home. Needless to say I had to "test" it up and down the road in front of the house.
Good luck with this project Dave,

A few small spacers made for misc parts and finished the day prepping the hood scoop for final glassing and prep for paint.
..and the Pontiac engine /trans is ready to go in the Firebird.......
good day...lot of those "undesirable hangeronners" around, some brought thier own beer, others brought ME beer.............
very nice day indeed

Civilians could special order them, and they were very popular with tradesmen like electricians, plumbers and, not surprisingly, funeral homes.
And it was in these types of special order rigs where many of the high performance big block parts got their shakedown under names like "police interceptor package" or "severe use option".
You know me and station wagons. I'm really looking forward to seeing it "haul"

I don't know that they were just special order for the government. While I haven't seen as many 2 door wagons than 4 door wagons for the 60s -- I've seen a few. My dad worked at Avis Rent-a-Car in the late 50s and early 60s -- and I remember him bringing home a 2-door wagon -- but can't remember if it was a 59 or 60. As far different as they are -- I thought they looked pretty similar back when I was a little kid. It was a car advertised in the Plymouth brochure. | | | | Trouble Maker | | Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: On the Outside, Looking in...
