| NSS-Racing.com Nostalgia Drag Racing (Nostalgia Classes) This is now the new official board for NSS-Racing.com -- a site dedicated to Nostalgia Super Stock & Nostalgia Muscle Car Drag Racing. The reason it is hosted by this site, and didn't migrate to www.MoparStyle.com with the rest of the MoPowerStyle sites -- is because this site has forums for other American Cars -- and not just Mopars. | | | | | | Senior Member | | Join Date: Oct 2008

| | Thanks Mark. I am going to change mine out. I am tired of fighting in and out the Hookers. What is your preference on tjrottle linkage...cable or solid rod?? I have been having no luck getting absolute full throttle with a cable, can't understand why. Have Lokar on it now and also have had a Mopar cable, always get about 7/8. poppaj

| | I like a solid rod, but we do whatever the customer wants. The cable is easier to seal up at the firewall. I have found that the angle of "pull" determines if the cable pulls it all the way open. Depends on where the lock down mount is placed.

| | Mark! Sounds like you are going wide open. I've been out of school with snow since last Friday and have had a chance to get back on my 350 Buick project. Got the heads on it last night. Work on it one day and wait 2 for parts the next. Going back to the basement to fab up oil pickup and will have to wait until Friday to put on timing cover and pan. Get that done and a little more porting on the intake and I'm ready to put it in the car. This is for the white 83 that I'm planning for the wife and step-daughter to drive. Guess I will try to run Mad Torquer one more year before I freshen it. Not sure how many races we will get to, trying to go for quality races like the Monster instead of running all over the country just to be racing. Hope to see you soon.

| | On the throttle linkage -- I've had both. I prefer the pedal feel of the cable -- and the ability to use it as an ET adjustment -- but it does need to be checked often for WOT. The solid linkage on the Indy height intake with a pair of carbs -- is very hard and I sometime wonder if I've given WOT throttle. I went from solid to cable -- at least for now. | | | | Senior Member | | Join Date: Nov 2008

| | Never thought about the mounting height in relationship to the pull, thanks Mark, I will check that out. I know what you mean about checking for WOT Dave, I do that alot. But still not sure it opens 100%. We had a solid setup on the 63' car but with the Indy box intake it was a hassle to. Are you running a Lokar on yours with a stock throttle pedal? Do you happen to have a picture of the throttle linkage setup? Didn't mean to hijack the wagon's thread. poppaj

| | I hope its a one of Barry Lokar's stuff...........most of his **** work pretty well...have used a bunch of it on street rods and such...........the throttle cables seem to work and can be custom fitted to your needs...ya just have to watch where you mount it.......
Hey Dave...Seats are going in...those funky red and black ones......so, maybe do the door panels to match?..will send a picture of the seats tomorrow or so.....dash and pod are entirely apart........gages are figured out and we will attempt to get em mocked up tomorrow..........all is well
we do need a shifter, maybe an ignition box, some of that type of stuff.......get it placed and mounted before final assembly....

Working on a PPP shifter and 60" cable (rear mount). I thought we dropped off a 7AL2. Let me check with Dallas to see if it is still in the trailer. | | | | Senior Member | | Join Date: Oct 2008
