Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.
I've been collecting stuff to get my garage/ carport going the last few months. I've got the metal roofing now, so I hope to move the low awning (you can see it behind the Stude in the above pics) & bring in fill material pretty soon. Then I can get serious about the building & get a darn roof over my poor ol' Studebakers head!
It wouldn't be all that bad on me, but until I moved last summer, I had a 25'X50' concrete slab w/ a 25'X25' garage on it. I'd grown quite fond of that, lemme tell ya. The new one here will start out as a carport, about 23'X20' or so.
Sigh- still haven't gotten anywhere on a carport yet! Its been a pretty busy time for me, though, but I really really really need to get something going before the Stude starts deteriorating in this salty climate.
I'll be damned- I moved that awning today! Spun it around 180 degrees & lifted it high enuff to put the Stude under it. Now I can bring in some fill material & build up a pad for my main roof. I have just about all the lumber to get it going, so I hope to have a 14'X24' canopy up in the near future.
Right now I have no idea what I'm going to do with the truck, to be perfectly honest. Trading it off for a fresh project has become an option.
I brought the truck home in the winter of '01- nearly 10 yrs ago- & it is still in the same basic configuration it was back then. For whatever reason, I just can't ever seem to get anything really done with it, & then when I do something, I always seem to change plans & start over.
Lately I've wondered if I've just lost enuff interest in it that I'm not really motivated to build it up.
I got the pad built up for the garage over the last couple weeks. Today I layed out the actual foundation area- what a PITA. I used the 3-4-5 trick to get it all square, dug the holes, set the posts in & braced them level. Tomorrow I'll mix up some concrete for the posts & get them done.
Its taking a little while, but at least I'm finally making progress.
