US Military ForumThis forum contains discussions concerning the US Military. A very high percentage of the active members of this board were proud to have served in the Military, and we will not have their service disrespected with the trolling of Anti-America cowards.
Please don't copy and paste any articles from any of the Military Times -- or from any other blog or News site. Likewise, do not post links to those sites either. Instead give a summary of the information you wish to offer -- and then give a keyword list that others can google to reference. I'm sorry that we have to do it this way -- but aggressive ambulance chasing lawyer varmints have nothing better to do then sue blogs and forums.
Donations of any size will help to defray the enormous legal costs from a lawsuit filed against the administrator of OldHippie.com, by what many refer to as a "Copyright Troll" law firm, for the posting of a TSA "Pat Down" photo they had bought the copyright rights to, after the photo was posted on this site, and then removed.

What did you like and dislike about your service? I loved it. The only reason I got out was because, my EAS was 2 months after my twins were born and when I went to re-enlist they wanted me to go to Okinawa for 1 year unaccompanied. I couldn't do that to my wife and kids so I chose to get out.
Retired 14 July 2008 from Oklahoma Air Guard. I ended up in the QA office for my last stint. I started on the Engines and Props of the C-130 then moved to Crew Chief. I had also worked at Vance on the T-38 and T-1 as Structural Specialist. When we were BRACKed we were forced into a consolidation with AF Reserves and KC-135 mission on Tinker AFB. Them guys told us that these were their planes and we couldn't play with them. I decided it was time to leave. Been everywhere, done everthing.

USAFR-1972-1978 Aircraft electrician, C-141
USAFR-1978-1991 Training and Education Superintendent
Retired MSGT (E7) with 12 years in grade
Good: Smartest move I ever made, went and did 23 years with the FAA-retired. Still get a rush watching fighters work the pattern at Carswell.
Bad: Constantly being told how important I was to "The Mission" but couldn't have the same bennies as "non-critical" personel who were sent home during snow, holidays, stand downs because they had more rank.
Bad-Bad: The idiot flight surgeon
Worst: Serving under Jimmy Carter

Likes-Friendships, being able to do things that most could never dream of ( like work on $15 million dollar helos daily), make a future for me and my wife.
Dislikes-WOMEN IN THE NAVY, Why you ask ? simple a woman can get away with anything, just wimper and whine and bam there you go, guys ? we get ****ed at even the smallest thing. When I was in bootcamp, which was a integrated division, me and my division chief all most had it out because he REALLY emphisized we count the females we it came time to the PFA (performance fitness assessment, push ups situps) and I called him out on it, that didn't go well he IT the **** out of me because of it. My grandfather was Navy, and lost his right leg in a blimp accident at lakehurst, NJ. I'm sure he rolls over in his grave just thinking about the new pussy navy.
