17309.1 My great uncle Joe died last week and he was one of the last of his kind left! A true American Hero!! Him and his brother literally spent a week packing out of the mountains of Idaho (just to get supplies) only to hear of the bombing of Pearl Harbor! He didn't think twice,he stripped off his pack and made sure he joined before he was drafted. That was very important to him ya know? Joining before being drafted. Here's his obituary.

My son and I are taking off early in the morning to drive up to Challis to bury this great man. And on the way up there and back my son and I won't be listening to the radio! Instead I'll be telling him stories and reminding him that men like his uncle Joe are the real reason we're driving down this road right now a free man!
Him and his brother Andy were best friends with Barry Goldwater and they're the ones that took Barry down the wild rivers of Idaho. (you know? the ones Barry taped and made famous?) That's right! That was my one of my grandads and his brother! As a matter of fact they (like a lot of my family) even made some scientific discoveries that made scientists (after being called liars in public by so called scientists) not only apologise in public but write about it in common mags of the time and say we were right!
Not only is he's the last of our eldest,he's the last of an era!
